Just one of the amazing items for bid at the Live Auction!
Custom Coffee Table by Fieldwork Design
Rev up your living room’s style quotient with this custom coffee table, created exclusively for the auction by Cornell Anderson, a JMP parent and owner of Fieldwork Design. This retro-feel piece is topped with a salvaged slab of Douglas Fir with live edges and an integral hand-carved bowl. The finish is natural citrus oil, linseed oil, and beeswax, and the base is a continuous steel rod with a blackened oil finish. This one-of-a-kind piece is sure to be a conversation starter!
The table measures 61” long, 25” wide (at widest point) and 17.5” tall.
We’ve received a lot of questions about what to expect on auction night. Who’s catering the food? (Food in Bloom) What time is registration? (5 pm for Patrons and Sponsors, 5:45 pm for regular ticket holders) What do we wear? (It’s Portland, anything goes! If you need a suggestion, we’re calling it an understated elegant affair.)
For a complete look at the night’s events and menu, please click on the “Auction Night” tab.
An email notification a week or so before the auction will be going out to ticket holders with parking and other event information.
Thank you for buying your tickets early and we’re looking forward to a wonderful evening!
We are so excited to announce that the beautiful 2012 auction design (thank you JMP parents Micah Kassell & Maya Mori) has been screen printed on tees & bags. They will go on sale at Richmond Elementary on Tuesday, January 3rd at the two auction tables (cafeteria & front office) from 7:45am-8:30am. We will be accepting cash, checks made out to Oya No Kai, Inc. & Visa/MC. All proceeds from tees & bags will support the amazing Intern Program.
They are all locally printed by Ink Brigade in color on a soft heathered gray cotton. We have sizing for men, women & children. The women’s tees are a fabulous scoop-neck tissue tee by Bella. The bags are printed in color on a lightweight black cotton canvas…perfect for your laptop! The adult tees are $15, the kids are $10 and the bags are $10.
If you are a Mt Tabor or Grant family, we will be sending out information regarding ordering & pick up this week.
If you have merchandise questions, you can contact Maya at email@example.com. If you have auction questions, please contact Sara Tam at firstname.lastname@example.org or Jeanne Kaliszewski at email@example.com, Auction Chairs Extraordinaire!

January may or may not sound like the near future to you, but for the Auction Committee, it is right around the corner. Donations are needed early so we have enough time to enter items and publish the auction catalog.
We are in need of donations of all kinds to make this event a success. We particularly need beverages – wine, champagne, and sake. Every item we receive is money that will be used for the Interns and Cultural Exchanges.
Please spend a few minutes and ask yourself what you can do, or a business or friend for a charitable donation toward our incredible Japanese Immersion Program.
